Angelic Layer is a story about a small yet spirited girl named Misaki, who one day comes to Tokyo to live with her aunt Shoka. While she is in Tokyo, she sees an
strange virtual reality game called Angelic Layer, then meets a crazy guy in a white scientist lab coat who insists that she
get all the Angelic Layer items. She purchases everything needed
for the game and customizes her own Angel, Hikaru.
So far,
having read only the first volume of the manga, I don't know how deep the story goes, or how
the plot twists or turns. The first manga volume as well as the anime are both interesting, and I'm all for the
rest if I could get my hands on it. The drawings aren't as detailed as other CLAMP works, and are actually more plain and simple.
So you're going to be surprised if you're thinking drawings like X or
Tokyo Babylon. However, this style fits the series well. Enjoy!
